In 2017, flashbacks show how La Abuela's mansion was raided by rival cartel gangs and the police. A bomb made by Hector, one of La Abuela's henchmen, is also planted in a Rubik's cube. Karl Cowperthwaite eventually solves the cube, which triggers the bomb and kills him in "Hamilton/Berg".

In "Barbara Ann", Todd investigates a mysterious dead body in the wall of the mansion and discovers several more and piles of guns, grenades, bricks of cocaine and millions of dollars in several currencies. Todd alerts the group and Melissa makes the discovery that the grenades are in working condition. They decide to search the rest of the mansion and discover more hidden dangers including a loaded bomb in a piano that explodes.
